My thought of the day: I used to have a New Year’s Resolution every year. And, every year, I always lost track of it. I became disappointed in myself for not sticking it out. It would (maybe) last for a few weeks or a few months, but ultimately it would get lost in the shuffle and before I knew it, I was back to old habits again and wondering where I went wrong.
This year I have decided to ease up on myself. I now label my “resolution” as something different…or rather, I don’t label it at all. In other words, I just make a decision to give some things a try and if they don’t work out, they don’t work out. NO pressure.
This year, as with most years, I aim to be a better person, a better friend, a better wife, a better Mom. In addition, as I reach the so called “hill” in my life, I aim to become more healthy by eating more frequently and smaller portions. I am going to attempt to add MUFAs to each small meal…I’m learning that MUFAs, or monounsaturated fatty acids, such as nuts, olives, dark chocolate and olive oils, can greatly improve your overall health as well as assist in weight loss. I have a couple other small hopes for the New Year, but I don’t want to bore you.
This leads to my next question…
Do you do a New Year’s Resolution? If so, will you divulge it to the world in this post?
The deadline for giveaway #6 entry is 11:59pm EST, Friday January 2nd, 2009. To review the rules of our giveaway, please CLICK HERE.

New Years. A time to start fresh. Every year I say the same thing .. stop smoking, loss weight, blah blah blah. I think this year I’m going to try something different. This year I think I’m going to try and be MORE of a mother. I’m already a mom but I see holes in my relationships with my kids and this New Year I want to fill in them holes the best way I can.
I always say that I need to lose weight but this year I am especially since my daughter started school. It’s all about your children and health!
My new year’s resolution is to lose weight and get organized. I seem to fail every year on these two goals. Let me try to accomplish at least 1 of the goals. That is a start. HAPPY NEW YEAR
This year my goal is to set a better example for my children by eating healthier and exercising more. This time I will get my children involved and hopefully make it more fun so I will stick to it. Instead of an hour on the treadmill by myself followed by boring rice cakes, I think I’d rather go play football for an hour with my boys and follow up with fruit smoothie.
Spend EVERY second that I can with my daughter and husband! Life is too short to be in a rush all the time! My daughet is almost a year old, and I did not realize how fast the ime TRULY flies by when LIFE happens; I want to be the greatest mother and wife!
setting goals and writting them down has proved helpful to me. Unclutter my house..do this by getting rid of unnecessary items that I don’t need. Finish quilts that I have started (finished one in time to give for Christmas gift.) Make quilts for each of my 4 adult children and then start on quilts for the grandchildren. Walk at least a mile a day to build my endurance and improve my health.
