My son will be 10 next week and is very affectionate with me, both at home and in public. It could also be a cultural thing, because an “air kiss” (with right cheeks touching) is a pretty common greeting / farewell among our family & friends. At home he absolutely still likes to snuggle…. I somewhat attribute his need to be close to us to the fact that he’s an “only.” I grew up spending a lot of “together” time with my sibs, but for our family, Mom & Dad are his “pack.”

My son also suffered glomerulonephritis Memorial Day weekend two years ago, when he was 6. He hadn’t even been sick and peed in the bathtub. It was blood red! I flipped out and took him to the ER. He was in no pain at all.

We spend a year making trips to the doctor for kidney testing. First, we went twice a week, once a week, twice a month, and monthly at the end until his protein was back to normal. What a scary experience! And we had no way of knowing there was even an issue. He was never sick. Every time he gets sick now, I am afraid it’s going to recur.

I am glad to hear that your little guy is doing well!

My daughter LOVES music so I’d get the pink music notes toddler pillow. So cute and unique!
