My son is currently diagnosed with the same problem. We spent about 24 hours in Children's Hospital Boston and now he is home. We also noticed no sign of illness prior to this. Now, his blood work is not coming back as good as hoped and he has contracted strep throat. I am hopeful he will have the same outcome as your son but right now it is very scary. Thank you for sharing your story.

Glad to hear your son is doing well. My son also encountered the same problem back in October 2008. We ended up in the emergency room due to stomach pains and of course the dark coca cola colored urine. He was hospitalized for 6 days. And the swelling of the body luckily occurred while we were in the hospital from all of the fluid retention. And he also had the biopsy. It is a very scary feeling. Much to be learned from kids that are asymptomatic with strep.

Throw a lollipop in front of him tho & he is good to go!

And, yes he really does love broccoli. He asked for it for breakfast that day with specific orders to not cut it up.
Have a great day!
