Many nights while our two toddler boys slept, my husband and I would often hear them banging into the wall that runs alongside each of their beds as they tossed and turned. We were always worried that they would hurt themselves, or even worse…they could wake up crying in the middle of the night! UGH. We try to avoid that at all costs. Our other concern was for their warmth during the cold winter months. We live in New England, so the nights get pretty COLD. The walls often got a bit chilly and we worried that if their skin rested against the wall, they would get cold. We designed a cushy bumper-style pad that easily attached to the wall that their bed-sides were pushed up against, and that could come down again to be washed. My Doudou™ Bed Bumpers for Big Kids was born. My Doudou™ (pronounced "doo-doo") is French, meaning warm cozy or comfortable cloth. It had always been the nickname for our youngest son’s cloth that he carried around 24/7 while sucking his thumb. We wanted to keep the name of this new product personal to us. Coincidentally, my position was eliminated at a company that I had spent 18 collective years at. It was perfect timing! What an opportunity for us! I was now also able to spend more time with my boys, while trying to start up a business that would benefit other Parents and Caregivers. It was a win-win situation. As time went on, we decided that we wanted to offer more than just the bumpers. We wanted to begin adding a larger line of sleep related comforts. This led to the launching of our new site… www.KidzComfort.com! We hope you enjoy My Doudou™, our own Bed Bumpers for Big Kids, and all of our other great products as much as we have.
